Local Girl Scouts Learn How to Become Future Leaders in Our Communities

News

At the University of Arkansas on February, 16, local Girl Scouts learned how to become future leaders in our communities at the Girl Leadership Summit.

The Girl Leadership Summit stands for ‘go-getter,’ ‘innovator,’ ‘risk taker;’ and leader.

The leadership program focuses on how teens can take the lead on issues of justice, inclusion, and women’s empowerment.

“All of what we do is built around developing the girl scout leadership experience, we’re creating young women leaders,” Event Coordinator Sarah Hyndman said. “So today they are here learning about global issues that impact the world.”

At the Summit, Girl Scouts also took part in a fun and engaging community project to help pack boxes of food for locals in need.
