Hospitals across the nation are celebrating National Health Care Quality Week to ensure the safety and quality of care given by health professionals.
With a growing community, health care professionals in NWA are constantly looking to better the way they serve community members. During health care quality week Washington Regional is doing just that.
During flu season, Director of Quality Management Terri Church, said they focus on increasing the safety of the community with vaccinations for both patients and staff. The hospital also provides free safety measure resources.
“We also put up signage, things like that. We provide hand sanitizer and masks for any visitors or patients that come into Washington Regional. And so that really develops that safety culture here,” said Church.
Church also said they invite outside help like the Arkansas Institute for Performance Improvement to look at the process they use to measure safety and quality.
In September Washington Regional was awarded the Govenor’s Quality Award for Performance Excellence.
