Local Law Maker Discusses Enhanced Carry Law

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — One of our very own caught up with a local law maker who was behind Arkansas Act 562, otherwise known as the Enhanced Carry law.

It’s an act allowing the possession of a concealed weapon on university campuses after a person undergoes additional training.

Representative Charlie Collins said this allows more guns to be at the ready in the event of an active shooter.

“One of the things that the Enhanced Concealed Carry law does is create another tool in the tool box to help detour bad guys that want to hurt people and that intend to shoot people with their weapon,” Rep. Charlie Collins, (R) said.

Eight colleges in the natural state were approved by Arkansas State Police to exempt sports facilities from Act 562 .

This includes Razorback Stadium and Bud Walton Arena.
