According to a study done in September by Wallet Hub the natural state ranks 2nd in the nation for the biggest bullying problems.
October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Local teachers and staff are helping the community learn how to combat and prevent the problem in our schools.
It can be an issue whether students attend a public school or are home schooled.
Jeremy Hoback from Arkansas Connections Academy says institutions like his are seeing an increase in students due to bullies.
“One of the top reasons they come to us is because of bullying. So it breaks my heart because we’ll get students that can’t even enter into the school building because it’s been so traumatic,” Hoback said.
Connections Academy will hold a free webinar Thursday night at 8 p.m. to give families prevention tips and ways to look out for bullies.
