SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KFTA) — ‘Tis the season for goblins, ghouls, and of course, vampires.
The northwest Arkansas Audio Theater will perform Dracula at the Arts Center of the Ozarks later this month.
The play will feature live acting, music and a sound effects person who works to creates sounds out of things you wouldn’t expect like puzzle pieces and silverware.
“It takes a lot of antiquing,” said Peter Gaskin, who does sound effects for the show. “A lot of going to stores and getting dirty looks from shopkeepers because I end up pretty much touching everything and making loud noises and things.”
The group is partnering with the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks in Springdale by offering a buy one get one ticket deal for people who donate a pint of blood.
“The thought occurred to me that Dracula pairs very well with blood,” said NWA Audio Theater board president, Scott Anderson. “And we wanted to do some advertising and try to encourage people to donate blood at the same time. “
