Local Volunteers Head to Alabama and Florida to Help Hurricane Victims

Help is on the way for victims of Hurricane Michael and many of the volunteers are from Arkansas.

Sheepdog Impact Assistance in Rogers has been monitoring Michael all week and on Friday morning they will deploy a disaster response team.

The team will work in Alabama and Florida, conducting chainsaw operations, tree and debris removal, muck-out operations and other recovery efforts as needed.

“We have a checklist that we look at that assess the damage and looks at home many people are affected that determines if we deploy or not, ” said Michael Nimmo, Ambassador, Sheep Dog Impact Assistance. β€œThis year, we’ve had two big major hurricanes this year so all of our chapters across the nation are ready to stand up for this.”

The team will return Wednesday.
