Locals Help Feed Homeless Population in Northwest Arkansas

Temperatures are going to drop into the teens Monday and for hundreds of homeless people, all they have to keep themselves warm is a thin blanket.

Locals with Food Not Bombs Northwest Arkansas went to 7 Hills Day Center January, 27 to make sure during any time of the year folks have at least a warm meal to keep themselves going.

Food Not Bombs shifts the focus of government spending away from war, to how we can help the homeless population.

The volunteer organization provides this food to set an example for the community, Allison Williams with Food Not Bombs said.

“We want everyone in this community to come down and meet the folks that are homeless and meet the folks that are trying to help out,” Williams said. “We want everybody to come together and get to know each other, and to really understand how hard it is for folks right now to be on the streets.”

Food Not Bombs serves meals at the 7 Hills Day Center the last Sunday of every month.
