The holidays can be challenging for people in need.
In Farmington, community members made sure everyone has a full plate of food this season.
“We know people are out there that need a meal and want a meal and don’t have a place to go get it,” said Casting Christian Church’s Community Outreach Coordinator, Steven Reed.
Community members at The Casting Christian Church held the first annual “Feeding Farmington” to ensure everyone has a Christmas meal.
“It’s our family of people that congregate together every Sunday coming together and saying “hey, we want to serve and be the hand servers feeding Jesus and be able to serve the community that way,” said Casting Christian Church Pastor, Dewayne Reeves.
Casting Christian Church officially opens in February but Pastor Dewayne Reeves said it’s never too early to show support for their community.
“We don’t want to expect people to just come to us every Sunday, we want to be out in the community and so with Christmas and the holidays we decided it would be a great chance for us to serve,” said Reeves.
Filling up people’s plates is just another way these community members are giving back this Christmas.
“It’s fits within our mission statement to serve without labels and love beyond reason,” said Reeves.
