Locals to Honor Dr. Martin Luther King’s Anniversary


The University of Arkansas along with the Northwest Arkansas Doctor Martin Luther King Junior Council are hosting multiple events to honor Wednesday’s, April 4 anniversary.

At 10 a.m. within the Mullins Library, a live stream of the National Civil Rights Museum’s “A Day of Remembrance Will Be up for All to Experience.”

At 3:30 p.m., within the Hillside Auditorium a live stream of the National Museum’s 50th Anniversary Ceremony featuring the layering of a wreath along with tributes and remarks from civil rights leaders.

And at 6:01 p.m. the community will come together outside of the Old Main building as the bells will ring 39 times once for each year of Dr. King’s life. Anyone wanting to participate is asked to get together a few minutes before at the Fulbright Peace Fountain.

All events are free to attend.
