Lowell Man Suspected of Helping Murder Suspect Head West

A Lowell man is accused of helping a murder suspect flee to California is back in the Natural State.

Romeo Chinchilla was extradited back to the state. He and 19-year-old Jose Ivan Mendoza are accused of helping Anjel Torres escape authorities after Torres allegedly killed 19-year-old Javier Nicolas-Rodriguez last December.

Torres faces felony charges of murder in the first degree, terroristic act, engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise and aggravated assault. 

Chinchilla has been charged with hindering apprehension.
