Community members had the chance to give their input on the future of Luther George Park in Springdale Tuesday.
The 14-acre park is being renovated by New Orleans-based landscape architecture firm Spackman, Mossop and Michaels in conjunction with civil engineering firm Ecological Design Group, which has offices in Rogers, Little Rock and Wynne.
Project Manager Emily Bullock spoke on the process and what she’s hearing from the community.
“So I think one of the most critical things about the future park is to enhance the connection from the Razorback Greenway to Downtown Springdale through the park, [and] also make the park a destination to bring the community together through events and performance and concerts. We’ve heard about food trucks already tonight, we’ve heard about water features. We’ve also heard a lot about stream restoration because Spring Creek runs through the park and people are really interested in making that connection to nature.”
Open house sessions for the park continue through Thursday at the Arts Center of the Ozarks.
