A K-9 officer in Madison County is dead after being left in a hot car, according to Madison County Sheriff Phillip Morgan.
Sheriff Morgan said the incident happened on Thursday and is under investigation.
The K-9’s name is Lina and was trained to track and detect narcotics, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office website.
Lina was acquired from donations through business and citizens of Madison County. She was three-years-old.
