FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) – A 19-year-old reported she was sexually assaulted while working at a local business, police say.
The Fayetteville Police Department said Bryan Smith was arrested in connection with the case. Smith is a maintenance manager at the business.
The victim said she was alone with Smith as he was doing maintenance on some equipment.
Smith made a couple of comments about the victim’s appearance, saying she looked good, and he liked the way she bent over, police said.
The victim said she went into a freezer to do a count for the night shift, and while she was in there, Smith grabbed her breast from behind, an arrest report states.
She said she told Smith to stop, but he continued. She nudged his arm away, and Smith stopped.
Officers spoke with two other employees who said Smith has talked to them in a similar sexual manner.
Officers then spoke with Smith. The suspect said he was at the business alone with the victim. He admitted to making “off color” remarks but denied touching the victim, police said.
Smith was later arrested and faces a charge of second-degree sexual assault.
