Man Arrested After Leading Police on High Speed Chase

News

Police have arrested a man who led them on a high speed chase throughout Northwest Arkansas.

KNWA was the first and only news team on the scene where police used a spike strip to stop the reckless driver.

Reports were first heard on the scanner just after 8:00 p.m.

Scanner sound said the driver traveled west on Highway 16 towards Siloam Springs, south on Double Springs Road towards Farmington, east on MLK towards Fayetteville and North and Southbound on I49.

The driver was said to have entered and exited 49 on multiple occasions.

KNWA received several tips calls from drivers on the streets, saying they almost got hit by the speeding cars.

It wasn’t until around 9:00 p.m. That police took the driver down on the Wedington Overpass in Fayetteville where several law enforcement agencies took down a man in a high speed pursuit.

We still do not have an identity for the driver, but we are working to get that information for you.
