A man wanted for nine years is behind bars in the Washington County Jail. Investigators say Carlos Barrera-Reyes shot his wife in Springdale in December 2006.

Court documents show the couple was living on Harve Street in Springdale when they got into an argument and Barrera-Reyes shot his wife. The documents say they had marital problems and when his wife no longer wanted to live in the same house he told her “If you don’t live with me, I’m going to kill you.” The documents also show when he shot her in the back he said “I’ll see you in another life.”

When officers responded, Barrera-Reyes had left the house and didn’t return. An arrest warrant was issued for Barrera-Reyes in May 2007 for attempted murder.

His address listed on the Washington County website shows a permanent address as Memphis, TN.

Barrera-Reyes was booked into the Washington County Detention Center June 22 and his bond is set at $100,000.
