Mercy will host a free diabetes seminar on Monday evening.
The event will teach participants about the chronic condition and how to manage it.
The seminar will be held from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Mercy Hospital Fort Smith’s Hennessy Education Center.
Speakers will be Endocrinologist Dr. Frederick Niegos, Ophthalmologist Dr. Christopher Greer, Podiatrist Dr. Raj Rammohan and Registered Dietician Jenna Siebenmorgen, according to the news release.
“Diabetes is a growing issue in our community,” said Dr. Niegos of Mercy Clinic Endocrinology. “There needs to be more awareness and education for people suffering from this disease. That’s why this event is important. It will allow us to expand the number of people we’re able to help, while raising awareness of the impact diabetes has on not only individual patients, but also our community.”
