It’s March Madness and a rivalry is being born right here in Northwest Arkansas.
Teams from Mercy Hospital and Mercy Clinic went head to head Tuesday night on the court to get needed items for the Saint Vincent de Paul Pantry.
Donated items dropped off in support of the hospital or clinic will add to each team’s score.
“We’re here to play some basketball to raise awareness of food insecurity in Northwest Arkansas. We know that several children go to bed hungry, and we want to raise the awareness so people will give generously,” said Sister Lisa Atkins, nurse practitioner for Mercy Northwest Arkansas.
The pantry has suggested donations of much-needed toiletries and feminine hygiene products.
