MLK Recommitment Banquet Honors Community Commitment to Students

News

The Northwest Arkansas Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Council held its 23rd Annual Recommitment Banquet Monday night at the Fayetteville Town Center.

The banquet is in conjunction with the University of Arkansas and recognizes community commitment to college and high school scholarships.

This event is the council’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

“We are giving out 17 scholarships and this is our signature fundraiser, and so that’s what we do — we give back to the community so we’re giving 12 high school scholarships and 5 college scholarship recipients,” said Council President Angela Mosley Monts. “The growth of this event and the community support we have received over the past 23 years have made all the difference.”
