BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KFTA) — Most students at Bentonville schools have served their detentions for walking out of class to protest gun violence last month.
About 600 high school students from Bentonville and Bentonville West were given an unexcused absence for leaving class.
The district’s policy says each student must serve a 45 minute detention period each time they’re absent without written approval.
Bentonville West’s principal said most students served their detention right after spring break, and Bentonville High School’s principal didn’t give an exact date.
