Motorhome Fire Kills Decatur Man

A Decatur man died inside of a motorhome after a fire broke out.

According to Decatur Police Chief Joe Savage, Ronnie Spence, 41, died after the motorhome caught fire.

The first officer on scene was not able to make entry into the vehicle due to smoke and flames. When more police arrived, people were attempting to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher and water hoses from the home.

The call came in at 403 Rooster Street at 10:40 a.m. on Sunday. 

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. The investigation is ongoing by Decatur Police Department, Benton County Coroner’s Office and the Benton County Fire Marshal.

Spence’s family has set up a GoFundMe account to help with funeral expenses.
