The 43rd annual Mudtown Days kicks off today in Lowell.
This year features a full schedule with events for the entire family. Weather permitting tonight’s events will include a Tony Tot Contest, kickball tournament and a free concert by Lynrd Skynrd tribute band, Lone Star Skynrd beginning at 8 p.m.
Saturday’s events kick off at 7 a.m. with a Fishing Derby followed by a parade at 9 a.m with free events for the family, culminating with a free concert by Country Superstar John Michael Montgomery at 8 p.m. and fireworks display following the concert.
The city now known as Lowell, was established March 8, 1847. Mudtown Days takes place at Ward Nail Park, located at 801 McClure Avenue.
