Multi-agency resource center set to open in Fort Smith

News

The American Red Cross and other agencies will open a “one-stop shop” in Fort Smith for those impacted by flooding along the Arkansas River.

The Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) will be open Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sears Building at Central Mall, 5111 Rogers Avenue in Fort Smith.

Representatives from state government, non-profit and faith-based disaster relief organizations will be on site to assist flood victims.

Individuals and families applying for assistance are reminded to bring identification showing address verification to be eligible for assistance from some agencies.

Red Cross has also established a toll-free number for Arkansans impacted by flooding to request information about recovery resources: 888-244-4023

The number is answered 24/7.
