Multi-vehicle crash stops traffic in eastern Arkansas

A multi-vehicle crash has shut down parts of Interstate 40 in eastern Arkansas.

Authorities say eight vehicles were involved in the crash at about 7:45 a.m. Wednesday on the interstate near Forrest City, about 85 miles east of Little Rock. The agency says the wreck involved four commercial vehicles and four passenger vehicles.

The agency says the accident involved a fatality, but no details were released. Westbound traffic is being detoured at the Parkin exit and crews say the wreckage should be cleared by 3 p.m. Wednesday.
