Muslim artists from five different countries are in Fayetteville to discuss their artwork.
Art Ventures hosted Islamic Art in Context Friday night at the Faulkner Center.
The exhibition includes paintings, graphic design and calligraphy, and has been open since April 8. But tonight was special because the artists got to talk about their work in person.
“I think the most interesting part of that is the contrast,” said Maryamsadat Amirvaghefi, featured artist from Tehran. “Some of the artists, clearly their work is about Islam and religion and a lot of freedom on that. And someone like me, I’m a little different because I use sports imagery, which is I think visually different than others. I think it shows the different side of the artists from Islamic countries.”
If you’d like to check out the exhibition, it will be open through May 18 at the Faulkner Center in Fayetteville.
