GRAVETTE, Ark. (KFTA) — The Gravette Public Library is rising to astronomical heights.
As part of a ‘Moon Over Main Street’ event, the Sugar Creek Astronomical Society will provide telescopes for public use at the library’s location on Main Street in Gravette. The library will also provide star maps to use in combination with the telescopes.
Onlookers will have the chance to observe features such as craters, volcanic peaks, plateaus and lunar seas. The best views will occur along the terminator, which is the line dividing day and night on the moon, according to NASA.
The NASA registered event is part of an ‘International Observe the Moon Night’ and will take place at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday. The event is the only one of it’s kind registered with NASA in Northwest Arkansas.
