SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA) — A local nonprofit hit the streets of Springdale Monday to create new bike lanes for the community.
This is the first of a week-long project to test the new lanes before the city decides to invest in more.
The new lanes, created by Bike NWA, will reside on Holocomb, Maple and meadow streets.
The bulk of the funding for this project is made possible by the Walton Family Foundation with little to no cost to the city.
The executive director of Bike NWA said these new protected bike lanes will improve safety for both drivers and riders.
