BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — The Bentonville City Council approved a new communication center at a meeting this evening.

The city will be building a new police, fire and EMS communication center with a price tag of $9.5 million.

Sgt. Gene Page  believes it will improve productivity and help the community.

“We need to make sure we have a stream line facility to meet the needs of the public for the next five years, 10 years, and 15 years. This facility will give us that,” Page said.

The former building will be recycled and used for much needed patrol space

They plan to have the facility built in one year once the project has finally broke ground.
