New Movie Filmed in the River Valley Opens in Theaters Friday

VAN BUREN, Ark. (KFTA) — A new movie coming to select theaters this week was filmed right here in Arkansas.

Inspired by true events, “The Riot Act,” involves a mysterious murder and an up-and-coming actress returning to the stage to seek revenge.

The director of the film, Devon Parks, grew up in Van Buren.

One of the actors, Connor Price, said locals in particular will enjoy this movie.

“I think the locals are going to love it because they are going to recognize the King Opera House, they’re going to recognize Main Street,” Price said.

The movie will be in nine theaters throughout the Natural State this Friday.

The film also stars Lauren Sweetser, who was born and raised in Fayetteville, and Brett Cullen.
