KNWA and our sister station FOX24 participated in Nexstar’s Founder’s Day of Caring.
This year we volunteered at Lifesource International, helping in its food and clothing pantry.
We organized donations and did outside work including upkeeping of facilities.
Lifesource meets the immediate needs of families by covering the basics — food, clothing and toiletries.
They also host an 8-week summer day camp for kids.
Director Jimmie Conduff talked about the impact Lifesource has on the community.
“A lot of these kids would be home alone if they weren’t here,” Conduff said. “Also, our neighbor’s kids that are here would be struggling to come up with the breakfast and lunch and the snacks they would need at home.”
Lifesource also has a food pantry that is open every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Monday evening from 6-7 p.m. The pantry is open at 5:30 p.m. Thursday for Spanish-speaking families.
