Tuesday, February 27, at 6:00 A.M. the brand new Arkansas Children’s Northwest in Springdale opens its doors to the public.
ACNW is the only facility of its kind in our region. The new facility means for the first time the region’s 200,000 children will have pediatric care close to home. Before Tuesday, the campus was only partially open, allowing families in for outpatient care, but as of the 27th, the hospital will begin offering inpatient and emergency care.
The facility offers a state of the art pediatric surgery unit with five operating rooms, a full range of diagnostic services, a helipad, and more. ACNW has been in the works since August of 2015, when Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock announced plans to build a campus in Springdale. The hospital’s final beam was installed in September of 2016. On January 8th, 2018, pediatric sub-specialists and therapists started seeing patients in the outpatient clinics.
