NWA Churches Collecting Donations for Flooding Victims

People in parts of Louisiana are cleaning up and drying off after storms have caused record-setting floods and folks here in Northwest Arkansas are stepping in to help.

Local Seventh Day Adventist Churches are asking for donations to send to Shreveport flooding victims.

According to the church’s disaster relief group, items like shovels, rakes, mops and cleaning products are the most needed.

“The Lord charges us to help our neighbors and that’s what our disaster relief is all about,” said Assistant Director of Disaster Relief, Michael Conway.

You can drop off donations at the Fayetteville church as well as churches in Siloam Springs and Rogers, Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. To 8:00 p.m.

1.      Toilet paper

2.      Paper towels

3.      Plastic silverware

4.      Trash bags

5.      Mops

6.      Push brooms

7.      Shovels

8.      Rakes

9.      Paper plates

10.     Flash lights

11.     Batteries

12.     All-purpose cleaner

13.     Rags- non clothing rags

14.     Hand Sanitizer

15.     Sanitize wipes

16.     Good vinyl gloves

17.     New under garments

18.     New socks

19.     Sponges

20.     Scrub brushes

21.     Laundry soap

22.     Dish soap

23.     Adult and kids diapers

24.     Sanitize napkins
