BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KFTA) — The Thirteenth Annual Northwest Arkansas Emergency Preparedness Fair was held in Bentonville today.
The fair included more than fifty hands-on displays and activities to show the community the tools they need in order to prepare before disaster strikes.
The walk in Red Cross blood drive at the event is one of the largest sources of blood donations in the region.
“It’s so important to be ready for emergencies and to be prepared and blood drives are a huge part of that because in any kind of emergency or natural disaster there is always a need for blood,” said Michelle Sorenson, blood drive coordinator.
The blood collected today from the fair will go toward helping over 500 lives each year.
