NWA Presents 23rd Annual Celebration for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.


Several days of events are scheduled as part of this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration in Fayetteville and at the University of Arkansas campus.

The Northwest Arkansas Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. council at the UofA hosts their 23rd annual celebration for the MLK Holiday.

Below is a list of their 2019 events:

Sunday, January 19:

  • Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Service with Featured Speaker, Todd Kitchen – 3:00 p.m. St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 764 W. North Street, Fayetteville, AR

Monday, January 20:

  • MLK Dreams Keepers’ Youth Unity Breakfast8:00 a.m. Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House, 491 N. Razorback Rd, Fayetteville AR
  • MLK Dream Keepers’ Youth Activity – 9:30 a.m. University of Arkansas HPER Building
  • MLK Freedom March 11:15 a.m. corner of MLK Blvd and Razorback Rd. Fayetteville, AR
  • Day Vigil – 12:00 p.m. University of Arkansas Union, Verizon Ballroom 
  • 23rd Annual recommitment Banquet with Keynote Speaker, Mr. William “Trey” Smith – 7:00 p.m. – Fayetteville Town Center, 15 West Mountain St, Fayetteville, AR
