WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ark. (KFTA) — Protesters gathered at the Washington County Courthouse Thursday to voice their concerns over the possibility of Robert Mueller’s investigations being stopped by President Donald Trump’s new attorney general.

They claim the forced resignation of Jeff Sessions is the first step in that process.

Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker has gone on record describing how he would kill Mueller’s probe.

Protesters want to show their opposition.

“Why would you want to stop an investigation that’s finding criminals that are committing crimes against the United States?  What do you, what do you have to hide,” said Travis Atwood, protest organizer.

“If America is the country is that we all know and wish it should be, that Trump cannot evade the law like he is doing, and we need to stop and do something about this,” said Kevin Shields, protest organizer.

Organizers say almost a thousand protests like this happened all across the country.
