Northwest Arkansas Community College received a significant gift.

The college received a check for $1 million from Washington Regional Medical System.

President and CEO of Washington Regional Medical System Larry Shackelford made the announcement Tuesday afternoon. He said this will greatly benefit students in Washington County.

“We’re going to be working with NWACC as they expand their campus to Washington County, going to be working with them in their health professions, including a gift today for their nursing simulation lab,” Shackelford said.

The new site for the project is located on Watkins Avenue in Springdale, directly behind and west of Arvest Ballpark.
