FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — An Oklahoma police officer was fired after being arrested in a sexual battery case on Wednesday, authorities say.
Joey Oliver, 48, a former officer with the Howe Police Department surrendered to authorities after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The Howe City Council said it met on Thursday afternoon and voted to fire Oliver.
Oliver is accused of sexually battering a victim on Monday after providing that same victim rum. The victim was under the age of 21, court documents state.
