One Dead after Attempted Animal Rescue

ZINC, Ark (KNWA)– A man is dead in North Arkansas after attempting to rescue several animals from a burning building.

Former volunteer firefighter Cody Ralston, 28, heard the fire from next door in his Zinc mobile home community and rushed to save the seven dogs inside the burning unit.

The untimely tragedy urged Nick Gahlbeck, Bergman Fire Chief, to speak out. Bergman says to refrain from entering burning buildings for any reason, regardless of who or what happens to be inside, as something may change so quickly that it turns the situation fatal.
