The Fort Smith Police Department is currently investigating a possible shooting in Fort Smith.
According to Public Information Officer Aric Mitchell, one victim suffered a serious injury to their head from a possible gunshot wound.
Mitchell says the crime scene is believed to be in the 4000 block of Rogers Avenue. Police encountered the victim at Joann Apartments, 3601 Barry Avenue.
The victim was taken to a local hospital. Mitchell says police currently have a person of interest.
The investigation is ongoing.
