Operation Christmas Child Helps Kids in NWA

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — This holiday season, you can help impact the life of a child in a very simple way.

Operation Christmas Child has helped over 140 million children in more than 100 countries since 1993.

The project encourages you to assemble shoe boxes filled with toys and other items that will be sent off to boys and girls of different age groups.

Lori Robertson, who works with the project here in Northwest Arkansas, said your gift can actually change lives no matter how small.

“There was this young man who had been in Africa, and when he received his box, he was just overjoyed because he received a pencil, and that pencil allowed him to go to school because without it, he had to stay home,” Robertson said.
