Some notable members of the University of Arkansas are coming together to help victims of Hurricane Harvey.
The University of Arkansas Student Athlete Committee and Razorback Athletics are partnering for the Operation Houston event that is taking place this evening from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Razorback student athletes, coaches, and some of the Razorback Spirit Squad are attending to help collect the items.
Some of the donations they are looking for are non-perishable foods, toiletries, First Aid items, personal care products and dog food.
A moving truck will take the collected supplies to the Trusted World Foundation, an international relief organization based in Allen, Texas.
Not only is the drive for a good cause but also gives the members of the Athletic Department a chance to interact with the Razorback community.
“One of the neat things is our student athletes have an eye for what is going on around the globe and around the world,” Associate Athletics Director Public Relations Representative Kevin Trainor said. “This is very important. They are taking time out of their busy schedules to what they can do to help.”
Cash donations will not be accepted at the event, but representatives of the event encourage people to donate to the local Red Cross Foundation and other agencies, which is located on our homepage by clicking on the white banner.
