Organizations Give Back in Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Several organizations joined together to give to their community on behalf of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Each year to kick off MLK weekend, the Northwest Arkansas MLK Council chooses an organization to serve.

This year, the Yvonne Richardson Center in Fayetteville was chosen, so volunteers scrubbed, deep-cleaned, and reorganized the equipment.

“We knew that he was about his community, he was about bringing people together through service, so as you can see, we have an array of people to come here and volunteer today and so we feel really good emulating what he believed in, bringing people together and giving back to the community and helping out,” Dr. John L Colbert, Vice President of the Northwest Arkansas MLK Council said.

Donors also gifted the youth center with new sports equipment to show they too can embody the good-nature of Dr. King himself.
