Ozark Regional Transit is working to figure out how to restore services to the many people that rely on them.

On Tuesday morning, ORT’s bus garage exploded, causing the loss of 20 of the 24 buses they use for service. The public transportation group has received buses to loan from the University of Arkansas.

“That’s starting to bear fruit already. We’ve got bus companies in Birmingham and Shreveport and Oklahoma in different stages of releasing buses to us,” said Jeff Hatley, Public Information Officer for ORT.

Pine Bluff is also loaning some buses to ORT. Those buses will be picked up on Friday.
