Washington County could soon offer employees paid parental leave.
Quorum Court member Daniel Balls introduced a proposal to the Washington County Personnel Committee Tuesday night for two weeks paid parental leave. The committee upped the proposal to 8 weeks.
If approved by the full committee, this would mean the primary caregiver of a Washington County employee’s family would get eight weeks of paid time off after a child is born.
The next meeting for the court will be September 25.
