Komen Ozark’s annual Race for the Cure is a thing of the past. This year, the group is premiering its More than Pink Walk in Northwest Arkansas.

The event will feature a single walk focused on unifying the community and garnering more support from donors.

“We want to make sure that we’re focusing on the mission of ending breast cancer and make sure that we have access to quality care,” says Komen Ozark Executive Director, Lauren Marquette.

A kick-off was held Wednesday night in Rogers to get the donation campaign started with Honorary Chairs Todd and Dee Harbaugh.

“More people can be involved because it’s a walk. And it’s more than that, just be involved,” said Todd Harbaugh.

Komen Ozark has a goal of raising $500,000 through the More Than Pink Walk.

“We are just wanting to grow and grow our fundraising and continue to offer support for local women,” said Marquette.

The More than Pink Walk takes place Saturday, April 27 at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade Mall in Rogers.
