An animal shelter in Benton County is getting closer to becoming a reality.
Members of the Bentonville Animal Shelter Steering Committee discussed Friday their design plans, location and financial sources that would be needed to fund their new animal shelter.
The shelter’s contract with their current location in Centerton expires in 2021. Having everything worked out by then is their current goal.
“This would be a shelter that is no kill. This would be a shelter that actually takes in cats, which none of the other shelters in Northwest Arkansas does,” said Tim Robinson, chairman of Pet Resource Steer Committee. “There would be a lot of other services that this shelter would do, and would probably be something that we would be pretty proud of regionally.”
The steering committee hosts meetings every month, and anyone is welcome to attend.
