FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — One of the three candidates for Speaker of the Arkansas House of Representatives dropped out and is now endorsing her former opponent.
The Speaker of the House presides over the Arkansas House of Representatives and is elected every two years by the membership. In charge of assigning committee leadership, the Speaker also places members on select committees.
Rep. Jeremy Gillam, R-Judsonia, serves as current House Speaker.
Rep. Michelle Gray, R-Melbourne, dropped out of the race last week and is now endorsing her former opponent Rep. Andy Davis, R-Little Rock.
