Police Investigate Suspected Battery Involving Razorback Football Players

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — U of A police are investigating a suspected battery involving Razorback football players.

Capt. Gary Crain with UAPD said the incident took place at a fraternity function.

Crain’s daily crime log has the incident listed as a third-degree battery occurring at Kappa Alpha fraternity at 1:37 a.m. Sunday.

“Three students reported a physical altercation with acquaintances at the Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity House,” the crime log states.

Kevin L. Trainor, spokesman for the university’s athletics department, issued a news release saying that the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has been made aware of the incident.

“The event was attended by University of Arkansas students, including members of the football team,” Trainor said. “The incident is currently being reviewed by UAPD and the Office of Student Standards and Conduct.”

Trainor said the department has no further comment until the review is complete.
