FORT SMITH, Ark. — Two men were arrested Oct. 25 in Fort Smith following a string of commercial burglaries in which seven separate businesses were broken into, according to the Fort Smith Police Department.
At each location, glass doors were shattered to gain entry and the burglars focused primarily on cash registers and safes, according to a press release from the Fort Smith Police Department.
Officers were able to develop a profile of the suspects after surveillance footage from one of the businesses captured the individuals leaving in a blue Chevy Silverado, according to the report.
Officers were able to locate the suspects’ vehicle outside of a Fort Smith inn, for which they acquired search warrants. Once inside, investigators seized items believed to have been stolen during the burglaries including an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the press release.
Officers later located Brian Nicholas Lafleur and Tony Alexander Cenzer at a local casino, then followed them back to the inn, where they were arrested.
The men were arrested on seven counts of commercial burglary, and are being held at the Sebastian County Detention Center without bond, according to the Fort Smith Police Department.
