Politician Proposes for State to Opt out of Daylight Saving Time


Legislation has been introduced by State Representative Sarah Capp (R-Ozark) to exempt Arkansas from daylight saving time, according to a bill filed Monday, February 4.

Capp, who is serving her second term in the Arkansas House, is the lead sponsor of the HB 1368.

The bill in part reads: “An act concerning daylight saving time; to adopt year-round standard time and eliminate daylight saving time in Arkansas.

She represents District 82 which includes parts of Franklin, Madison, and Crawford counties, according to the state’s website.
