Possible Rape Investigation at the UofA

News

At the University of Arkansas, a student has come forward with accusations of rape.

The student said they were raped by an acquaintance in an unknown university parking lot on Saturday, April 6, according to a campus security report.

The case is still ongoing and has not been investigated by the police department.

On Wednesday, April 10, the UofA Title IX Coordinator sent out this email survey to UA students:

Dear UA Student:

The University of Arkansas is strongly committed to addressing sexual assault, and we encourage our students to do their part to create a safe and healthy campus community. There is now an easy opportunity for you to play a huge role in addressing this important issue. We are implementing a survey to help understand student perspectives and experiences related to sexual assault. By participating in this survey, which takes less than 30 minutes, you will be providing critical insights to help protect and support University of Arkansas students. At the end of the survey, you will be provided access to a separate questionnaire for the chance to win a $100 gift card to the University of Arkansas Campus Bookstore for completing the survey. Two gift cards will be given away. The more students who participate, the more we will learn what can help us take on these issues in a meaningful way. Your response really will make a difference. Please note that this information will always be stored in a separate and unlinked database and therefore will never be tied to your survey responses. This procedure has been approved by the University of Arkansas Institutional Review Board. To participate in the survey, please click hereIf you would like to seek out campus resources for sexual misconduct, please click here.
